The mintage figures were initially set at 170,000 making it the rarest £1 coin in circulation as well as surpassing the figures for the 2009 Kew Gardens 50p and 2023 Atlantic Salmon 50p. However as of September 2025, a further 8.84 million are set to enter circulation.
