Commemorating the efforts of the aviators and fighter air-crafts during the First World War. This ultimately led to the formation of the RAF in 2018.
This was the fourth of the Royal Mint's World War One centenary designs. The three strands of the armed forces featured on two pound coins between 2015-2017 to commemorate their contribution to the war victory.
