The Royal Mint have released an official UK £2 coin to celebrate the legendary vessel – the RRS Discovery.
 
This new £2 coin commemorates two major milestones: 125 years since her launch and 100 years since the Discovery Oceanic Expedition.
 
The RRS Discovery – the last traditional wooden ship of her kind in the UK – made history with her pioneering voyages that transformed the world’s understanding of Antarctica.
