The definitive 50p design in the Isle of Man between 1988 and 1995.
Showcasing late 20th century technological advancements - this design is for the personal computer. The £1 coin from the same series featured the mobile phone.
This coin is dated 1989, in circulated condition taken from sealed bag.
*This coin is no longer in general circulation and is thicker than standard 50p coins issued after 1997*
Obverse: Raphael David Maklouf Queen Elizabeth Portrait
Reverse: depicting a personal computer (designed by Pobjoy Mint)
Minting Notes -
When adding years to coin designs the Isle of Man used one style for the digits until 1989 and another style from 1990 on (with the exception of 20 Pence coins from 1998 on). The difference is most easily noticed in the 9s and 6s in the date. This type exists with both styles.
