The first one pound was circulated in the UK in 1983 to replace the outgoing Pound Notes. The original 'round pound' was a hallmark of British change for over three decades featuring many different designs released annually each pertaining to the four nations of the United Kingdom.

In 2017 a new 12-sided bi-metallic design for the pound coin was announced replacing the original round design which was eventually removed from circulation.

In 2023 the £1 coin was updated again with a new definitive design forming part of the King Charles Flora and Fauna collection. This coin depicts some of the different bee species found in Great Britain.

We specialise in circulated £1 coins from the UK but also have a selection from The Isle of Man, Gibraltar and The Falkland Islands.
