First released in 2006 as part of a two coin set to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the institution of the Victoria Cross Medal, the most prestigious award in the British Honours system. 
 
This is a re-dated coin struck in 2019 as part of the Royal Mint's 50 Years of the 50p coin collection - The Miltary Set.
