First released in 2006 as part of a two coin set to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the institution of the Victoria Cross Medal, the most prestigious award in the British Honours system. 
 
These re-dated coins were struck in 2019 as part of the Royal Mint's 50 Years of the 50p coin collection - The Miltary Set. 
 
Obverse: Jody Clark Portrait - dated 2019
Reverse: Depicting a soldier carrying a wounded comrade (designed by Clive Duncan) & Depicting both sides of the Victoria Cross Medal and the date of creation (designed by Claire Aldridge)
