2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
 
To commemorate this historic moment, a new 50 pence coin was released in Gibraltar to reflect on one of the most significant events of the 20th century.
 
The obverse of this coin features the Gibraltar Coat of Arms accompanied by the inscription Charles III – King of Gibraltar, the denomination and year 2025.
 
These coins have been taken from a sealed bag.
