The 2026 UK The Angel £5 coin is an official commemorative coin released by The Royal Mint that serves as a modern tribute to one of England’s most famous medieval gold coins.
 
Originally introduced in 1465 under King Edward IV, the historic Angel coin became famous for its use by monarchs during royal ‘touching ceremonies’ to cure scrofula (a skin disease known as the king's evil.)
